Editing the Module Catalogue: a Practical Guide

Introducing a new module

Introducing a new module

New modules can be created from the home page using the   Introduce a new module button.

Alternatively you could use an existing module as a template for a new module (see the making changes guidance).

When creating a new module, you'll be prompted to enter a title for it. A module proposal will then open.

There's a lot of fields to complete on this screen, and you'll need to complete them all. Fields marked with a will be visible in the student-facing Module Catalogue. There's help text given along the way, and if you get anything wrong you'll be prompted with further help text when you try to submit.

You can save progress at any time using the Save button at the top of the screen, and return to the proposal to complete it at a later date.

When complete, press the Submit... button to submit the modification for BoS approval. The system will check your submission and flag any errors that need attention. If there are no errors, you will be shown a summary of the module. Select Confirm this submission to complete the submission to Chair of BoS.

It is good practice to use the comments box at the end of the proposal to include details of the proposed new module and explain the rationale behind it. This will assist the Chair of BoS, the AQ Team and the SITS Assessment Team when reviewing the proposal.
