select which research data you need to (and can) archive and share
decide how open or how closed your shared research data will be
choose an appropriate data repository to preserve, publish and share your research data
prepare your research data for deposit in a repository (adhering to the repository's requirements):

converting your data files to open or common file formats
creating documentation to accompany your shared dataset(s)
ensuring your data is FAIR
upload your research data to your chosen data repository:

writing a data access statement to include in your published outputs
recording your shared dataset in:
PURE (for staff)
White Rose eTheses Online (for postgraduate researchers)
It is easier to meet data sharing requests if your data is organised and effectively documented, and if you plan for data sharing at the beginning of your project you decide how your data will be shared.
