Digital technologies have transformed education and research, bringing new ways of knowing about and studying the world. Alongside the traditional literacies we've required in order to engage in a university environment, we now also need to draw upon a breadth of digital literacies.
These digital literacies support the development of more traditional literacies and lifelong learning. Academic programmes need to develop students' learning abilities and transferable skills — including digital literacies — to ensure that graduates have the learning abilities to be successful not only in their academic endeavors but also in the wider world.
