Welcome to the Subject Guide for Chemistry

Welcome to this Subject Guide, which brings together key resources and information for students and staff.

If you're brand new to York (or even if you aren't...) you may find our New Students Quickstart Guide useful. It will give you a To Do list to get you started; if you have any questions, let us know. In the meantime, go on a Virtual Tour of the Library

Don't be afraid of the library. It can be imposing, it’s one of the biggest buildings you’re allowed to go in that you've ever seen! It can be intimidating, but this is your space, people are here to help you.” - York student

Accessing Chemistry3 e-textbook

To access the e-textbook of Burrows' Chemistry3 (or Clayden's Organic Chemistry or Atkins' Physical Chemistry) you must:

  1. Go to your module page on the VLE
  2. Select E-Textbooks on the left-hand menu bar
  3. Select Chemistry3 from the list.

IMPORTANT:  Please do not use YorSearch to access the electronic version of Chemistry3, Organic Chemistry and Physical Chemistry as these titles are not available this way. We use an e-textbook platform that means these titles must be accessed within the VLE.
