Search the Library and National Railway Museum collections

Books in the National Railway Museum's library and archive centre, Search Engine, are listed in the YorSearch catalogue.

You can use this simple search box:

Keep both boxes ticked to search the catalogue as normal. Untick the University Library box to limit your search to the NRM. Untick the NRM box to exclude that collection from your search. Unticking both boxes will limit your search to electronic collections only.

Google Scholar

Search for academic materials like journal articles, peer-reviewed papers, theses, books, preprints, abstracts and technical reports.

When you use a campus-networked PC, Google Scholar will automatically link to the University of York library catalogue and display articles where we have full-text access. When off campus, you will need to select University of York - Full Text @ York in the Settings option (under Library Links).
