Check out our training...
We offer a breadth of workshops to help you enhance your academic and digital skills. Our training programme includes regular sessions on topics including critical skills and designing presentations. Look out too for our weekly Digital Wednesdays where we get digitally creative: this term we’ll take a look at some useful digital technologies and get playful with the University’s art collection.
There are plenty of ways to find information out for yourself too. Have a look at our YouTube channel for video guidance on all sorts of things (including our new comprehensive guide to the Library: How It All Works), and our online Skills Guides allow you to learn in your own time and at your own pace.
We run a number of skills training sessions each term.
Digital skills training sessions and Digital Wednesdays are open to all members of the University. Academic Skills Community and other sessions may be limited to students only. You can filter the list to only show sessions of relevance to staff or research postgraduates.
To book onto a session, follow its link below (you'll need to log in to the booking system). If a session you're interested in is full, sign up onto the waiting list — if we have enough interest in a session we may repeat it. You'll also find copies of our slides throughout the Skills Guides
Most of our training is online but we've made space available on campus should you need somewhere to join from.
We also run a number of specialised training sessions for staff and research postgraduates:
At the top of every Skills Guide is a set of train tracks leading off to guides on similar topics. Here are a few getting on points to help you get started:
