Learning online

It can be tricky to get up to speed with studying online, when all your learning is taking place over the internet. We've put together a guide with information on working off campus, communicating online, being digitally organised and a lot more. It's really well worth a look:

Welcome to the Subject Guide for Law

Welcome to this Subject Guide, which brings together key resources and information for students and staff.

If you're brand new to York (or even if you aren't...) you may find our Information For New Students page useful. It will give you a To Do list to get you started; if you have any questions, let us know. In the meantime, go on a Virtual Tour of the Library

Help us support the charity IDAS by giving to the Library and YUSU’s Tree of Wishes. You’ll find the tree in the Morrell, covered in gift labels. Choose the gift you want to donate, purchase and wrap it, stick the label on and put it under our tree. We’ll then take all the presents to IDAS, who work with people affected by domestic violence in Yorkshire. It’s a really good cause and a really lovely thing to be a part of. Thank you!

Hi everyone! I am Sümeyye, 2nd year law student and the Westlaw Student Representative for this academic year. I am sure that you have started to use, or have already been using, Westlaw either for your PBL research, legal skills sessions or generally to research into some contemporary topics. I am trained to provide you with guidance on how to use Westlaw most effectively. Thus, this year I will be offering certification sessions and 1-2-1 drop-in sessions in which we will be working on improving research methods when using Westlaw. Please do not hesitate to email me.
